Hello and welcome to Pet Stop. This is the first of an ongoing dialogue
between individuals who love and care for their pets. You are hereby invited to suggest topics of interest about
anything pets. We can discuss diet, health, training, various sports and competitions, and the every day concerns
that inevitably crop up when you live with animals.
You may be interested in a little of my animal experience. I have worked with horses, dogs, cats (including a wonderful
ocelot), dolphins, squirrels, and various creepy crawlies. My two sons loved their snakes and lizards and it was
not out of the ordinary to find something unusual winding its way through our house when the boys were small.
I 'worked' at Sea World in one of the shows back in the early 60's - no fair counting on your fingers how many
years ago that was - trained and showed Arabian horses in the 70's and 80's, and competed with my Dobermans since
then. I was co-founder of Intermountain Therapy Animals in Salt Lake City and Training Director for that organization
for 10 years. I trained and competed my Doberman, Onyx, who was the only female Doberman in Utah to hold a Schutzhund
III title for many years, while simultaneously acquiring an AKC CDX and becoming a registered Delta Pet Partner.
I was also Pet Partner Animal Evaluator and Master Instructor for the Delta Society. While living in Salt Lake
I co-hosted a 2-hour talk radio show about animals. Along with my involvement in the real world I wrote numerous
training articles and some can still be found by 'Googling'.
Currently, my husband and I live in Idyllwild and have two male Dobermans. We are expecting our next one, hopefully,
a little red girl, sometime in Feb. She will be half sister to my six year old and daughter of my husband's male.
At the present time I have no plans for competing with her but things can change so quickly in this crazy world
of ours that I have learned never to say 'never'.
So, if you have a topic that interests you or tidbits you would like to share, send them to me at:
